Traveling by car

The wedding venue address will bring you to Stout’s parking lot (free) which adjoins a gravel path that will lead you to the Shore House waiting area and dock. The ferry will pick you up at this dock and bring you directly to the island. See the ferry schedule below.

Traveling by plane

The closest airport is Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), and it is a 2-hour drive to Stout’s Island.

Ferry Schedule

The Stout’s Island ferry leaves the island for the shore 10 minutes to the hour. The ferry arrives at the Shore House Dock on the hour and then returns to the Island.

Ferry Hours:
7:50 AM – 10 PM daily

On the night of our wedding, the last ferry will leave at 12:30 a.m. to take you back to the parking lot if you are not staying on the island.

Lodging

One of the main reasons we chose Stout’s Island Lodge as our venue was to give our guests a unique weekend experience.

The island has many cabins, which we’ve been allowed to fill 25 specific rooms. Each room has varying capacity limits.

That said, to ensure everyone has a spot to stay on the island if they choose, this will work a bit differently than booking a normal hotel room. Please see the following steps for the process:

    Decide if you are staying on the island. There is a 2-night minimum, so you would arrive on Friday (check in at 4 pm) and leave on Sunday (check out is at 11 am).

    Let us know in your RSVP if you plan on staying on the island. If you have a preferred sleeping arrangement or budget that you need us to accommodate, please let us know.

    We will contact you with room/cabin assignment information for you and your party.

    You will call Stout’s Island (715-354-3646), give them your name, and complete the booking. Reservations need to be booked by June 28, 2025.

We understand that these caveats may not work for everyone. If you decide you want to forgo staying on the island, please see the next section for suggestions for accommodations off the island for you to book on your own.


Hotels

Rice Lake, WI is the closest town to our venue, which has a few hotels and potential Airbnb options. While we don’t have rooms blocked off, check out the list to get your search started.

Please keep in mind that Ubers will likely not be available.
